Out Run the Bear

There were two men that were on hiking trip to the back woods of Alaska. This was right in the middle of grizzly bear country. The older man had experience in living and hiking in this rugged country. The younger had looked forward to his first experience in this beautiful state. He had done his home work reading all he could about backpacking in the wilderness.

As they started off on their trek the younger man noticed that his friend had a small side arms strapped to his waist. He said “I see that you are carrying a gun.” 

The older Man grunted “Yap” 

“What is that for?” questioned the young man.

“Bears” Responded the older man.

“It doesn’t look very big, what caliber is it?” Asked the young man.

“It a 22 Ruger” replied the elder man.

Know how big grizzly bears are the young man said “That won’t stop a grizzly bear if it attacks us!”

“It doesn’t need to be able to stop a bear ” The old man said “I just need to shot you in the leg so I can out run you”
